A work-around procedure to run your Seestar in Equatorial Mode while awaiting ZWO Equatorial firmware release

DISCLAIMER: This procedure is a hack that people are temporally using until ZWO releases their anticipated equatorial mode firmware. While there are no known Seestar community reported risks to the telescope this is not a ZWO authorized procedure, and Equatorial is not a ZWO authorized operating configuration. Peterson Engineering provides the Seestar Equatorial EZ Wedge in anticipation of the ZWO firmware release and disclaims responsibility for problems that might arise through use of this work-around.

Prodecure is as follows:

Align your wedge mounted telescope with your celestial pole. (Instructions for the Seestar Equatorial EZ Wedge are included with the wedge.)

Turn on your Seestar

Connect to your Seestar

Launch app

Go to advanced features.  Open Initialization.  Make sure that Skip Horizontal Calibration is disabled.

Go to Stargazing mode.  Hit Skip to turn on Star Atlas, and using the joystick point the telescope roughly toward zenith.

Press the red Live button and the scope will immediately start Horizontal Calibration.

Immediately after Horizontal Calibration shows 100%, hit the red Cancel script. (Before it starts slewing to who knows where.)

Search for any target within the scope’s altered horizon using either Sky Atlas or the Stargazing mode.  The menu will most likely display an Object Below Horizon message and stop mid-slew if you slew to an object below your latitude but it’s strongly recommended that you verify that your object is above your altered horizon before doing your Go To.

Enter Go To, and proceed with capture as is normally done.
